The sebaceous glands produce a substance called sebum. The production of sebum is regulated by the hormone androgen which has testosterone. It is the hormone testosterone which is responsible for the over production of sebum. Excess sebum clogs the pores of the skin leading to blackheads. These black heads provide the ground for the bacteria to grow which results in Propionibacterium acnes. These P acnes cause pimples on the forehead and elsewhere. Too much dryness also causes pimples.

It is not only cleansing that is important, along with it exfoliation too is equally important. Use a good quality scrub regularly to keep your skin smooth and fresh. This would also remove all the dead skin from your face. Those having a gentle skin must not exfoliate more than twice in a week. It is not only your face, you must exfoliate your whole body while taking a shower.

Use medicated lotions and creams for pimple prone foreheads. A lotion containing benzoyl peroxide would be good. This substance kills acne causing bacteria. It is also a bleaching agent so be careful with your clothes while applying it.
